Is it okay to eat brown rice every day?
I recently read a news article about brown rice being a high glycemic index food and it can increase the risk for heart disease and can raise blood sugar levels. However, I also read in a website saying brown rice can actually help reduce the risk of heart disease and is actually healthy. What do I believe? I eat brown rice every day for lunch or dinner.

- brown rice is good for you. i eat white rice everyday and its worse than brown rice. look at all those asians who eat white rice everyday, they dont gain weight, i've never heard of one asian having high blood pressure, or have heart disease. i live in orange county, where like half of the population is asians.
- Brown rice is a whole grain and is extremely good for your diet when eaten as part of a balanced diet. Just remember a serving of brown rice is a half prepared.
- Brown rice is a whole grain and several servings of whole grains a day should be a part of every ones diet.
- Yes one serving of brown rice everyday is ok.
- Okay, this may gross you out, but: I've been eating brown rice every day for lunch and dinner for three years. My constipation went away and I go to the bathroom every day now (which is of course healthier). Also, I've been having my blood sugar determined regularly, and it's normal. And of course I haven't had heart disease, LOL. Just remember not to believe all news articles, unless they have particularly good sources. Some of them can be very misleading and will frighten you too much and without good reason.
