I want to lose 35 lbs by October, who here thinks I can do it?
I plan to hover around 1500 calories a day, stick to low glycemic index foods, lots of fruits and veggies, my usual exercise regimen (I exercise 1-2 hours broken up through the day like bike rides, pilates, weights, etc). Can I do it, or do I lack willpower and motivation? C'mon, be honest! Oh man you guys ROCK! Keep em coming, I'm gonna print all these out and pin them up all over my house!

- 25 to 30 pounds is more realistic, assuming you maintain your discipline. 15 pounds if you don't. As a general rule, 1 pound a week is likely if you mostly stick to your diet and exercise but cheat occassionally. 2 pounds a week is the maximum weight loss from maintaining strict discipline.
- You sound motivated, and have the plan. So yes you can.
- I can't tell if you lack willpower or motivation, but by October, I believe it is very possbile. Try to do hardcore bike riding and running. Stair master or eliptical machines are very good. Weights may help, but you'll be adding some muscle so you won't lose weight as fast. Try not to just focus on losing weight, but rather burning fat. Check with a doc and keeping thinking to yourself that you wanna see a different you. I'm trying to do the same before September so I feel the same way.
- Sounds like you've got a plan so IMHO, I believe you can do it. I believe you can even have a bit of chocolate now and then and still reach your goal. Don't make yourself miserable though!
- I do! ...because you want to. That which you put your attention on, grows stronger.
- you can do it and you do it
- You sound like you have the ambition to do that, and that is one key ingrediant you need to have successful weight loss.. Sooooo I think you can if you stick to it!
- you also need to drink alot of water dont forget the water you can do it and dont give up on yourself. I know you can do it if you set the goals for short term and long term goals put a picture up of some thing that you would really like when you get to one goal say 5 pounds buy a top or book or something you like and you can do this.
- I'm trying to lose 50 pounds by the end of the summer I stoped eating sweets that was my biggest problem and I started taken st-2 pills I stoped soda and drink water I hope to see a chrange soon..wish you best of luck I'm in new york were are you..
- You CAN do it, but I don't think it's a good idea. I'd suggest concentrating more on your exercise routines and improving the QUALITY of your diet and less on calorie restriction. We've all heard of the "diet roller coaster." It's a very real phenomenon. The best solution to being overweight is PERMANENT lifestyle changes. These must be reasonable (i.e. more than 1500 calories/day). I think October is a little too soon to lose 35 lbs in a healthful manner. Concentrate more on the long run.
- i think you can! A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER: The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories But you should always eat If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore ALSO.... i found this artical called "50 Habits of "Naturally Thin" People How to get Started:Decide how much you want to loose and see how many calories a day it will take to make it happen by year's end. Then, work into your routines however many of these eating tweaks and exercises you need to achieve your goal. Slash 250 cal.s a day to lose about 25 lbs. in a year, Slash 500 cal.s to loose 50 pounds. This is based on a 150-pound person: you may need to cut more/ fewer calories depending on ur weight, age & gender.
