Glycemic Index Help

If you base your diet on foods that have a low glycemic index, will you lose excess weight?

Public Comments

  1. Yes, as long as you don't overdo portion size. Excercise speeds up the process. If you really are interested in how low-glycemic stuff works, you should read up on it. It's rather interesting. There are a lot of surprises as to what foods are and are not low glycemic. It is good to know, especially with diabetes becoming such an epidemic.
  2. from what I've read, that is a good way to diet
  3. Your body is an engine governed by the hard rules of physics. If you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. If you burn more calories than you eat, you will loose weight.
  4. Sean is quite right. Also, the glycemic index has nothing to do with how your body uses the sugars available from the carbohydrate you eat. If you eat more energy-food (carbohydrates and lipids/fats) than you use for your level of exercise then the extra is stored as fat. For reliable medical/scientific advice look here:
