Does diet soda effect weight loss?

does it cause the glycemic index to raise? or anything?

  1. Actually, diet sodas are shown to be addicting. The brain gets dependent on the sugar subsitute. So if you do drink them, don't make it too much. Or you can reverse the effect of weight loss.
  2. Diet soda is really bad for you and doesn't help you lose weight at all!!!
  3. it doesn't make you lose anything but it's better than just plain soda.
  4. It doesn't help you, but if you are counting calories it can make a significant difference on your total intake. For example a regular coke has around 145 calories when a diet has 0! If you tend to have a couple of regular sodas a day you can see how it adds up fast. I would rather use my calories towards food.
  5. No a diet soda every once in a while is okay but you need to drink a lot more water then diet soda if you want to lose weight.
