Has anyone been on a low-glycemic index diet??
If so, what's the easiest way to find the gi of foods you eat, and how well did it work?

- I used to have severe hypoglycemia and was kept at or below 45 carbs per day so I'd never sugar spike, then I went into ketosis, then keto-acidosis, then diabetic keto-acidosis now I'm diabetic and take insulin and really don't care what I eat to the dismay of my doctor.I WAS DEPRIVED TOO LONG!! My mom on the other hand was diagnosed as a diabetic in 11/04 and put on "the diet" and has lost 185 pounds. It saved her life! She eats small portions of lean meat, lots of fresh seafood, and fresh veggies, no white flour, only whole grains (in small quantities of course). I'm very proud of her, but dinners at my parents kinda suck now because they never have any goodies and serve boring food
