Glycemic Index Help

what is a glycemic index?

Public Comments

  1. The glycemic index or GI describes differences in carbohydrates by ranking them according to their effect on our blood glucose levels.
  2. Glycemic index is a measure of how fast certain types of foods are absorbed by the body. The slower the "glycemic index" the slower the absorption rate. The Dr. Atkins diet was on the right track but didn't go far enough - this is the next step. If you eat foods with slower absorption rates, you will be less likely to gain weight. The glycemic index diet is a pretty good idea if you are on a weight loss program.
