Glycemic Index Help

Who is an expert on this glycemic index stuff?

After reading this, I'm thinking it might not be all that useful: http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2006nl/july/glycemic.htm Pretty useless "answers" so far. Come on people, you can do better.

  1. The experts are the inventors of the idea.
  2. It depends. If you need wiser carb choices, it is useful. If you just don't care, eat all the white refined carbs you want.
  3. I am an expert on this stuff. Like cholesterol (ch), it is a work in progress. First all ch was bad. Then there is good ch and the more the better. They created a new formula. Now there is harmful and harmless bad cholesterol with a new formula. So now it is glycemic load, not glycemic index that is important. But they will learn more. The real story is eat foods by God or nature not man-made foods like trans fat. See site below on best foods for diabetes and losing weight.
  4. I did a Literature Review of Leptin for a grad studies course last term and found this article to help me explain GI. http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/content/full/76/1/5 :)
